THE SCIENCE FOR POPULATION PROTECTION

Dear Readers!

There is not a single day without facing a danger, that might threaten our health, our life, our environment, lives of our loved ones, friends and others. Catastrophic movies develop scenarios of possible situations on the basis of natural or human consequences of crisis situations. The Bank of Information on "What can happen" has reached a giant scale, and it brings something new every day. The essence of rational human behavior is in his ability to analyze what has happened, atomize the causes and develop methods, which can prevent or treat  already raised situations and  eliminate their  consequences. Therefore  the second Bank of Information on "What to do" has been created, too.

Population  protection is  usually perceived  as a set of  measures,  which  secure  and monitor the state territory. However, from the Banks of Information – What can happen, and What to do, we have already known, that population protection is not the only entity involved in protecting of population and facing the danger. The science of population protection is highly multidisciplinary one. It includes political, economic, natural, military, medical, securitological, informational, technical, technological, environmental, psychological, as well as philosophical, systemic and cultural aspects, which can be found by detailed analyzing of the issue. The science of population protection is opened to learning of new laws and rules, which are connected anyhow with protection of man and population at risk or crisis situations.

The journal “The Science for Population Protection” is thus widely opened. It should create a forum for publication of scientific research, and information on activities, on one hand, and collect a spectrum of views, which would monitor, support and specify security research, the way it is perceived by representatives of scientific and technical community, on the other hand.

The Editorial Board has an international dimension and will cooperate in the formation of initial targets in a wide range of possible views. Authors and their materials will always be verified in terms of article benefits by two reviews. The basic idea is that the electronic form of the presentation will be both, in English and in original language version.

We're not going  into the unknown. We know,  we have  something to  say and we will try to convince not only ourselves, but also you, our readers. We do not want to  compete with popular magazines,  we want to foster scientific methods  and procedures for the development of  population  protection,  for the later  development of  practical skills, and for the benefit of  our citizens finding themselves in general threats.
